Our Mission
Marked by his first training among his friends in 2019, Ziya Rezaye has today grown his Western Ravens Volleyball Club into a large community welcoming all kinds of volleyball players. It is his vision that is to grow volleyball within Sydney. He believes volleyball is the ultimate sport to challenge mindset, fitness and teamwork which are all key skills needed beyond any sport. Today, the belief in these goals haven't changed and we strive to help our community reach these milestones.

Ziya Rezaye
President & Coach
I started my volleyball journey at 14 years old, playing at Sefton High School. Since then, I've been able to compete in volleyball at an elite level, competing in junior nationals and SVL premiers.

Today, I represent WR in SVL Division 2 Mens and NSW in the Afghan national tournament (which have won the national event two years in a row). I also coach a lot of our training sessions. I am passionate in helping people improve their volleyball skills and find it wonderful to see their joy when they get something right. For me, coaching is not just a job.

I'm currently completing my final year for a Bachelors of Health and Physical Education, and will be completing my masters of teaching at Western Sydney University.

I joined Western Ravens in 2022, been a member since then and I have played SVL for DIV 4 as a setter. I recently just finished my degree on Bachelors of Teaching & Bachelors of Arts, majoring in Mathematics & Theology and now I am currently in a teaching position at a school.

My mindset on the court when I play volleyball:
"Innovation requires an experimental mindset".

There is no right or wrong on improvement, it is more so trying out new things and see if they can work or not. I portray positive energy on and off the court, and always bring the team up to their full potential.
